Synopsis

Jack and Ella travel alone, taking the path less trodden. Disheveled and dirty they keep away from people, towns, and cities, off the grid. They are hiding, on the run, but from what and why? It’s unclear who Alexander works for but what’s apparent is that violence is his forte, he is driven by a darker force to find the pair. It’s a game of cat and mouse, the hunter chases the hunted.

Fascinating, suspenseful, and a great ending. though I'm not sure I understood it all. Kept me for the whole run-time

    "Please... I haven't seen him."

This one started out really well, but I didn't have much more of an idea what was going on twenty minutes in than I did in the first.

This is a supernatural horror short film. I really liked it, and that conclusion!!! Sends shivers up my spine.

    Well done.

What is here is good and engaging, but like many other short films you don't really know why they are doing what they're doing; or in this case: why is the girl so important. There is an interesting ending but it still doesn't give context.

Kept me invested the whole duration of this short film, it seems that this is meant to be a part of something far more bigger but that hasn't come to fruition yet

I need to know where this was filmed because I have to go there immediately. This film has an absolutely gorgeous setting.

God’s Kingdom follows a man named Jack who has been travelling along a dangerous route with a young girl named Ella. As the viewer, we don’t really get to learn much about these two, just the fact that they’re desperately trying to escape something. Jack and Ella stay away from people and society, only going out in public when it’s an absolute necessity. They aren’t the only characters we follow through this story though, and there is also Alexander, an intense looking man with a passion for violence. He is the person that has been hunting Jack and…

The Last of Us live action adaptation looks good.

Short films, short reviews: God’s Kingdom

Have you ever seen a short and immediately thought, “this was definitely made as pitch project.” If you have then you know exactly how you’ll feel after watching God’s Kingdom. It’s not bad per se it’s just that it feels like episode 8 of a 12 episode series. There’s a definite struggle there to actually enjoy it. It’s a bit disjointed, vague, but sets up a really interesting premise that could make a genuinely enjoyable as a television series. In this format.... not so much.
